our big pivot
Recovery Force Board members have agreed that continuing to provide recovery support for adults required a pause for a number of good reasons. The most significant one being that our community could sharply reduce the occurrence of substance use disorders in the first place by embracing a new approach to prevention. It requires self-reflection and addressing ourselves and would face difficulties if led by anyone other than the organization comprised exclusively of people impacted by addiction.
Our work moving forward will put Atlantic City's children first and correct approaches that ignored those most at-risk for developing a substance use or mental health disorder. We will focus on helping to establish protective factors at various levels to off-set risks. We will focus on enhancing their experience growing up in Atlantic City. We will advocate by asking everyone to identify what they are doing now to improve the experiences of our children and presenting new ways for allocating more of our vast resources to them.
We will continue to focus on stigma-reduction through community education and awareness campaigns.
Recovery Force is the voice of people and families impacted by addiction.
We are working to reduce the addiction stigma through awareness campaigns and community education in order to eliminate contempt towards people and families impacted by addiction.
We have adopted a voice for the children of addiction as our top priority in efforts to prevent substance use and mental health disorders among them.
